Virtual Home Inspection

Pardon our mess. You may notice some pages look nicer than others. Well, after 5 years of same-ol-same-ol, I decided it was time for a renovation.
- Bruce W. Carr, owner

  • I can generally schedule an appointment within 2 to 5 days. Some weeks fill up faster than others, so call as soon as you can when you write up the contract and start your "option period" (generally 10 days).

Don't Select your inspector only based on price. When talking to inspection companies, be sure to ask:

  1. Are they experienced; what type of "real experience" do they have?
  2. Are they a Member of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI)?
  3. Did they just get their license, or have they earned a worthy reputation?
  4. Do they offer Termite Inspections? Do they offer Photos with the report?
  5. Will the report be professionally typed and easy to understand?
  6. Can they teach you about your home, or will they simply send you a report and hope to not hear from you until you buy another home?
  7. If they offer to type the report on-site, will they take their time, or will they hurry and give you a generic report with little detail ?
  8. Do you want an average inspector or an exemplary inspector?
  9. If they are the cheapest, ASK WHY!
  10. Are they ethical ?

Select Inspect is not the cheapest, nor are we the most expensive. We offer exceptional knowledge and service for reasonable fees. Please call us for a free quote.

Some inspectors woo clients by boasting Millions of dollars in E&O (errors & omissions) insurance coverage.
They don't tell you that any claims you make are limited to the cost of your inspection.

Our contract is available here

An example of our thorough report is here

You cannot have a Rolls Royce,
if you are only willing to pay for a Kia.
The full cost of an inspection is usually only about 5/10,000 (.05%) or less compared to the price of the property. The difference between Select Inspect and the low-price inspectors is typically only $50 or less. The difference in knowledge and training is immense.

The lowest bidder - John Ruskin (1819-1900)
"It is unwise to pay too much, but it is worse to pay too little.
When you pay too much, you lose a little bit of money ... that is all.
When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because what you bought was incapable to do what you bought it to do.

The common law of business prohibits paying a little and getting a lot... it can't be done. If you deal with the low bidder, it is well to add something to the risk you run. And if you do that, you will have enough to pay for the something better."

Why would you skimp on one of the most important procedures in the home-buying process? Don't be fooled by low priced companies claiming to give "full service" at a cheap price.

Do you want the lowest price, or do you want the best product/service; you cannot have both. It cannot be done.
You get what you pay for, and honest companies charge what they feel their service is worth. Why would anyone charge very the least for such an important service, what are you missing?
